Pastor of Family Life Update…

We are one month away from discovering if we have been granted our request of one of the following candidates from Concordia Seminary- St. Louis:
Mark (and wife, Betsy) Bushiakovich
Andy (and wife, Emily) Johnson
Brian (and wife, Victoria) Weaver

Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m. will be the Call Service…and will be streamed over the internet.  You may gather in our church sanctuary to watch together on the screen, or you may do so at home.

Once these candidates are assigned, they graduate to later in the month of May and then will be ordained either at their home congregation or the “calling congregation” to which they are assigned.  Usually they arrive at their new congregation early in July and are installed in a special worship service.

Should God the Holy Spirit determine that our candidates are better suited for other congregations, the call committee has requested that Southeastern District President, Jon Diefenthaler have ready a list of candidates “from the field” for us to immediately consider and interview.

Note:  Also on May 1st during a late afternoon worship service, vicar candidates are placed in their congregations.  Concordia has once again requested a vicar.  We are grateful to receive a grant from the Southeaster District that will cover much of the cost of our 2012-2013 vicar.
