Children's Ministry
Concordia Lutheran Church has a long history of dedication to the children of our congregation and our community. Visit us on FaceBook to see the latest activities!
Worship
Concordia values children in each worship service.
Children are invited forward for a special message that is age appropriate and focused on helping children understand the sermon and/ or readings for the day. Children can also participate in worship by using a Worship Bag found in the black baskets. Each bag is filled with items to help a child stay focused during worship and be creative. Children are also encouraged to use the Worship Art forms inside the bags to illustrate the sermon or worship for the day. The drawings are displayed for the congregation to see!
In addition to a quality Christian education at our church-supported Pre-School/Elementary/Middle School, we also offer the following child-oriented programs:
• Cradle Roll
• Cherubs
• Elementary Group
• Vacation Bible School
• Scouting Programs (Brownies and Cub Scouts)
• Family Camp Weekend
• Other Seasonal Activities
The Children's activities are all geared towards children ages newborn through 4th grade.
Cradle Roll
Ages birth to 3 years
Cradle Roll is an educational, support and encouragement program for the youngest children of the congregation and their parents.
The goal is to encourage parents to train their children and nourish the faith they received through Baptism. it gives the parents age-appropriate tools to carry out this privilege and responsibility of the spiritual training of God's children.
Upon their Baptism, each child receives a handmade baby blanket as a gift from the congregation. The children and parents also receive regular mailings every six months from birth up to the time the child is enrolled in Sunday School. Each mailing includes a "Tips and Truths" tract to the parents, gift book and age-appropriate Bible lesson.
Cherubs
Pre-School, Ages 3 & 4 years old
Our Cherubs enjoy a lively, interactive Sunday School class with singing, rhythm instruments, stories and hands-on participation that prepares them to connect the basic Biblical truths and joy. The 4 year olds hear a Bible story and complete an activity connected with the lesson.
Elementary Group
Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Children are thrilled with the variety of teaching methods they experience in the unique Sunday School designated especially for the learning needs of this age group. They learn while having fun singing, playing games, doing crafts, having a media experience, creating a drama or using puppets. Each quarter, their offerings are used for a special Mission Project that the children get to actively participate in.
