Concordia Prime Timers

Concordia Prime Timers  is an organization for those who are 55 years and older to get together with fellow congregants and friends for monthly fellowship and worship experiences with the goal of leading happy, fulfilling lives, and to grow in faith in Christ.

Prime Timers  meet on the second Monday of each month in the Emmaus Room. We share meals (covered dish), enjoy special programs, entertainment, and participate in organized day trips.

April 11th

Meet at Brookwood Cafe & Catering, Maiden NC

 

May 8th

Potluck in Emmaus Room.  Elvis will be making an appearance.  Join us at 11:30am.

 

June 20th

 

On the road to Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre, Wytheville, VA to see "Then Sings My Soul."  $70 per person includes Lunch, Show and Chartered Bus.  Meet in the horseshoe at 9am, bus pulls out at 9:15am.  Make your reservations before May 8th.

 

July 10th

Phyllis Heil, "The Whistling Woman," will be our entertainment for our July potluck in the Emmaus Room.  Come at 11:30am and bring your favorite dish to share.  Phyllis has won the International Whistling Entertainer of the Year for five years and is from Hickory, NC.

 

August 14th

 

August takes us to The Blue Moon Tavern in Newton, NC. Meet at the restaurant at 11:30am and give yourself extra time to find parking.  After lunch, we will tour the History Museum of Catawba County which resides in the 1924 Courthouse on the square in Newton.

 

September 11th

 

Meet in the Emmaus Room for a potluck at 11:30am. Entertainment for the day is TBD.

 

October 26th

 

Did you notice this isn't the second Monday of the month?  We are headed to The Hudson Uptown Building for a dinner theater production.  Cost is $35.  Meet at the church at 5pm to board the bus which will leave promptly at 5:15pm.  

 

November 13th

 

Concordia Christian Day School elementary music students will be our entertainment for our November potluck.  This is one of our favorite meetings.  See you at 11:30am!

 

December 13th

 

December's meeting is not on a Monday either!  Advent services have started and we are providing the noon meal for those that want to fellowship after the Advent Service at 11:15am.  Bring a little extra to share!  We will also attend "The Promise" at Tri-City Baptist Church in Conover, NC.

January 8th

 

"Share Your Hobby," was a great success last year so we are doing it again!  Tell us what you like to do in your spare time. Quilt, knit, crochet, fish, build, wood craft, anything you do, make or love is a hobby.  Come tell us about it!  Potluck at 11:30am, share your hobby follows.

 

February 12th

 

 

February brings us back to the Emmaus Room for annual election of officers.  Sidney Halma  will review the book "The Catawbans: Boomers and Bypasses."  This is the 3rd book in a series on the history of Catawba County.  Potluck starts at 11:30am.

Note: Specific details for these programs are being confirmed and may need to be adjusted to fit availability.  All Programs in the Emmaus Room begin at 11:20am.  Costs and departure information for 'on the road' programs will be shared as soon as possible.  A minimum of 35 participants are needed for these events so bring a friend.
